My mom always told me to not wish my life away. It's hard not to do that this time of year when it's been two months since our last show and there's still three weeks until the next one! The Rebel Junk Vintage Market in Loveland, CO will be our first show of 2018, Feb. 23-24, and I am soooo ready to be selling again! Plus, I love Colorado and the mountains so that adds to the anticipation.
I'm trying to make the most of this in-between time and not wish the year away already. Although it's been cold with a few snowstorms we've managed to find lots of great vintage pieces to add to our inventory, and look forward to more "hunting" trips ahead. After we do the buying (the fun part) the smalls come into the house for me to clean and price (less fun but warm, indoor work). Terry is making good progress on projects in the shop on all but the coldest days. It's also been an opportunity for me to work on the website, planning for and marketing the RRR Vintage + Handmade Market, signing up for other shows, making travel plans and catching up on life in general. Yesterday I met with my junk BFF's, a.k.a. "The Junk Association" to plan for the vintage Christmas market we put on together. Girl time with friends who "get" me is always refreshing.
If I'm being honest, it's nice to have a little time for relaxing in front of the t.v. in the evenings. I think the dog and cats are enjoying that, too. So I'll try to take a cue from them and savor, instead rush. Thanks for the advice, Mom.
